Intrigued by Burlesque? Always wanted to take a class but something has held you back? Perhaps you’re apprehensive about practicing in front of other students you don’t know? Maybe you’re not sure if you want to commit to a multi-week course? If you can relate, then Burlesque Goddess Galena is for you.

Get ready for a different and unique experience at Burlesque Goddess. This isn’t your standard dance class where you sign up and have no idea of who else will be taking it with you. All classes are scheduled by appointment only. Each class block is exclusively open to groups of friends / people who know each other, or single individuals interested in booking a private lesson. This way you’ll know exactly who will be joining you at the dance studio. Classes are also customized to your taste and comfort level, to ensure a more positive learning experience.

We are ALL beautiful and many of us could use some encouragement to feel more attractive, “sexy” or more comfortable in our skin. Meet your Instructor:
Cherish the Burlesque Goddess

Cherish Criswell

Burlesque and side show performer, producer, and choreographer Cherish Criswell has performed throughout the Midwest as Cherish the Burlesque Goddess. In addition to her performances with Variety and Burlesque shows (Red Hot Dames, Dead Girls, Eve's Parlor, Nice Jewish Girls Gone Bad, etc.) Cherish also co-produced shows for the group Chicago Burlesque and Vaudeville, and hosted multiple variety, side shows, and private entertainment events. She has appeared on the stages of Chicago's Berlin Nightclub, Metro, Double Door, Park West, House of Blues Foundation Room, Double Door, Beat Kitchen, Fairmont Hotel, Lakeshore Theater (Chicago), Motor Lounge, and Fox Theater (Detroit) and many others. A seasoned stage artist and true entertainer, her years of experience performing and entertaining live crowds lend to her expertise and success at instructing others in the genres of burlesque, freestyle dance, and movement. Cherish and her husband (and their dog) are year-round residents of Galena.

Cherish at Burlesque Goddess Galena is extremely kind, caring, patient, and compassionate. She is accommodating and meets people where they are at, she takes away any shame or embarrassment. She allows me to work at my own pace and do what I am most comfortable with, no judgment. If you have ever considered doing something similar, I would highly recommend it.
